"Informatics Engineering and Information System Maranatha's Accredited "Unggul": Aimed to Impact the Progress of National Knowledge"

The two study programs under the Faculty of Information Technology at Maranatha Christian University, the Bachelor Program in Informatics Engineering and the Bachelor Program in Information System, have been accredited "Unggul"For Informatics Engineering, this is documented in the decree issued by the Independent Accreditation Institution for Informatics and Computer (LAM INFOKOM) No. 069/SK/LAM-INFOKOM/Ak/S/VIII/2023, valid from August 7, 2023, until 2028. Meanwhile, for Information Systems, it is documented in the decree No. 186/SK/LAM-INFOKOM/Ak/S/XII/2023, valid from December 17, 2023, until 2028.

Mr. Teddy Marcus Zakaria, M.T., the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, expressed his gratitude for the achievement of these two study programs. He stated that this achievement has been eagerly awaited by the lecturers, staff, students, alumni, and the entire Maranatha Christian University community. "This achievement is a gift from God and also the result of hard work, as well as the support of all parties including the programs, faculty, University, lecturers, staff, alumni, Business World Partners and Industrial World, not forgetting the Quality Assurance Unit (SPM) which continuously monitors the quality of the programs through Internal Quality Audits (AMI), Faculty Quality Assurance Team (TPMF), Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Academic Directorate, IT Services Directorate, Institute for Academic Creativity Development (LPKA), and other directorates within Maranatha," said Teddy.

The Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Information Technology, Djoni Setiawan Kartawihardja, S.T., M.T., also mentioned that the lecturers and students have made efforts and worked hard together with alumni and faculty partners to improve what has been achieved over time. "There have been numerous constructive inputs and guidance provided by the university and our partners, allowing us to attain this achievement," he said.

To further enhance the quality of the programs, Teddy stated that in the future, they will improve the quality of the teaching and learning process based on Outcome-Based Education or OBE (Outcome-Based Education). Furthermore, they will enhance the quality of lecturers through studies, certifications, functional positions, research, and community service. Additionally, they will elevate student achievements on both national and international scales. Collaborations will be established with various businesses and industries (DUDI), schools, churches, and alumni to strengthen networks.

"There needs to be more effort and hard work from both the faculty and study programs to enhance the achievement of the nine accreditation assessment criteria that have been obtained, at the very least maintaining what has been achieved. Various breakthroughs and innovations need to be implemented." Djoni added.

Through this achievement, Teddy hopes that the Faculty of Information Technology can increasingly provide a positive impact on the development of science and the welfare of the Indonesian nation by producing excellent, integrity-driven, caring, and outstanding generations. "Furthermore, with the merger of the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Engineering, it is hoped that in the future, we can strengthen the capabilities and collaboration of faculty, students, staff, and facilities," Teddy concluded. (vir/gn)
